Robin Williams in Dundas – Part 2

Posted on: December 5, 2005 by Kelly

So yeah… I had nothing better to do today than stand outside in the cold for an hour and wait for Robin Williams to exit the Deluxe restaurant after he was done filming. It paid off though, I managed to get up close enough to touch him if I had wanted to. He was swarmed by people when he walked from the Deluxe to his trailer but he patiently posed for photos and made a few jokes.

Robin Williams in Dundas?

Posted on: November 23, 2005 by Kelly

According to the Hamilton Spectator, Robin Williams will be in Dundas filming “Man of the Year” from November 30th to December 6th. Other cast members include Christopher Walken and Laura Linney but the paper didn’t say whether they would be here or not.

He’s supposed to be at the Deluxe Restaurant next Wednesday. I’ll have to go check that out.

Superman Returns

Posted on: November 20, 2005 by Kelly

Superman ReturnsI just saw the trailer for Superman Returns. It looks good if you consider it on it’s own, but I think having two different Superman storylines (the movie and Smallville) going at the same time is probably not a good idea.

Apparently the new movie is supposed to be a sequel to the Christopher Reeve movies, or the first two anyway (I think they want us to forget about 3 and 4). The trailer even has a voice over by Marlon Brando taken from the first Superman movie, and the spacecraft that brought Kal-El to Earth looks the same (picture a Christmas tree ornament if you haven’t seen it before).

I did like the 1980’s Superman movies when I was a kid, but now I think they’re kind of cheesey. Christopher Reeve was perfect for the role though. The powers that Superman had in the “original” movies were a bit too extreme though… I mean, at the end of the second movie he even erased Lois Lane’s memory by kissing her. When was that ever in the comics? So I hope they don’t make the new movie too much like the old ones.
